(Sniff, sniiiiiiff) Ahhh...the frest mountain air! (Something Trace and I have been craving for a while.) We decided it's been long enough since we've taken in some cool mounatian air...so we packed up the Expo and headed for the hills on Friday night when Trace got off work. We went up the Payson Canyon. Who'd a thought that we were surrounded by such B-E-A-utiful scenery?
Look at the two HAPPY campers!
Brody enjoyed crawling around in the dirt. He also really enjoyed eating it. (Hey, a little dirt never hurt....right?)

We took many hikes around the different lakes up on the mountain. They had so many neat little trails.

This is me and Budah...notice that little wooden bridge we are crossing over? (It's barely noticible in this picture. Oh wait...MOM had a thought...

Let's put Brody on that cute little bridge and take a picture of him...(brilliant idea Tara)

As you can tell he isn't too sure of it and he begins to rock back and forth...however, my "cheetah speed" (see 3 posts ago) did NOT kick in and Brody went face first into the water...(If you can't laugh at that you can just leave.) He was soked. I just wish Trace would have gotten a picture of him in the water.

This is us just strollin around a different lake.

This is Brody floating in the lake. He would get SO tense...

I was there to help him along though...

There was the prettiest scenery around the lake....

Look how cute that little path is....I must say, "Darling!"

That picture above is of a little stream. (Surprised you didn't know that.) We tried to follow the stream using this tiny"elk/deer/racoon" trail and hiked through a jungle and someone ended up at this little waterfall. It's almost as good as Spelunking.

We also saw some baby deers. Hello there little buddies...

We also climbed/hiked this other little trail that led to another waterfall. There were like 10 wooden briges that we had to cross. We decided to take the stroller...rather than trying to carry our 25 lb son. It was hilarious. We got some strange looks from other fellow hikers. As you can tell....Brody LOVED it...

Oh and let me tell you...that water was Fa-REEEZING!! So cold. (Oh and PS. I thought the waterfall would be A LOT bigger than that. In reality, I could probably climb the side of the cliff [well, if and only if I had the wiked crazy rocking climbing skills to do so...which I don't]...anyway, if I could somehow get on top of the waterfall and sit down I'm PRETTY sure, at least 60% sure, that I could dam up entire waterflow and stop the waterfall completely. ) Oh and PSS. What did the fish say when it ran into the cement wall? ANSWER: DAM!!!

Trace letting Budah play with the cliffs by the waterfall...for some reason he LOVED it. And I love this picture.

This is me trying to convince Brody that hiking, sitting in FREEZING cold tundra ice water, and taking a million pictures is TONS of fun!!

Anyway, after the hiking, exploring, spelunking, swimmin, and all other sorts of outdoor fun...there's nothing like mornings in the woods and enjoying some delicious pancakes.

And playing with sticks....small...

AND BIG...

And spending some alone time with the ones you love!!

Anyone want to come camping with us? Don't be shy!

some weird shoes trace is wearin when he feeding brod
ha ha...you are telling me. Those things are hidious. (Or however you spell it.) They are so not cute...I seem to think Trace wore them, just inspite of me and my negative thoughts towards them.
I knew Bro must have fallen in when I saw the picture of him soaking wet. Funny there are no pictures of Taralee and Trace immersed in that ice cold water.. hhmmmmm. Maybe Nana needs to make a trip up there to see if my grandson is OK.... ;o)
Ok, I feel bad for the little guy that he took a tumble into the cold lake, but he actually doesn't look like it bothered him to much. What are you feeding that boy? Does he really way 25lbs? I just took Max in and he lost 10oz. He now weighs 23lbs 3 oz. I am sick about it!! Help! Where are you getting your protien shakes for the Brodster?

Wow I really don't think I have ever been more jealous. I wish I lived in the mountains and not the desert where snakes would attack us or turantulas. I want to go so bad. I love that picture of Trace and Brody eating pancakes and they ahve the exact same expression on their face. Doesn't say much for Trace. JK.
looks like you guys had a great weekend camping! Wish we lived closer so we could join you its so pretty! We dont have anything like that here out here... Love you guys!
i was pretty much dying when i saw that you set him on that bridge to take a picture...and I was SURE that he would fall in. and he did. so funny. looks like you guys had fun hiking with the stroller and all. Do you think that if one of us had had a kid in high school that we could have taken the baby on the hikes with the hiking club? that would have been fun
I want to go camping with you!!! THat looks like so much fun and it really is so pretty! Is camping a blast? Wish we could go together sometime! Oh and ps... you look so beautiful in all those pictures... I love it. And Brody looks so happy. YOu guys are just one totally cute, happy family. Awesome.
I think your next adventure ought to be Timpanogas cave. You could get your hiking and spalunking all in one trip. It is beautiful up that high too. You might want to pass on the stroler. And don't set my grandson on any more bridges! Ha! I love reading your blog. Your stories are so comical and so enjoyable to read. Love, dad
