First day at the Park

This is Brody's first time in the swings at the park. Doesn't he look like he is having a blast? (He's like, "SURE MOM...")

Don't you just want to squeeze his little chubby cheeks?

Weee! Swinging is so much fun. Pretty soon he'll be too big for this little bucket swing.

Just chillin in the grass.

MY MAN

1. Who is your man?
The one and only...Kenneth TRACE Porter
2. How long have you been together?
A little over 2 years.
3. Dating/Engaged/Married?
Dated for ummm...6 months. Engaged for 1 1/2 months (Ya, I know...quick engagement). And married for 1 year and 8 months today!
4. How old is your man?
24
You or your man?
1. Who eats more?
When it comes to ice cream- I definatly got him beat. But he can usually throw the food down pretty easily!
2. Who said "I love you" first?
He tricked me into saying it first...but he said it right after. He wanted to say it to me since the first day he met me! ha ha. just kiddin.
3. Who weighs more?
Oh boy, I'm not gonna lie. When I was prego we were DANG close. But now I am pretty sure he does, but if he were to try on my pants...they would probably fit quite nicely.
4. Who sings better?
I must admit...I am a Celine Dion mimick. My voice is JUST like hers...no, maybe ever better! ALRIGHT..that's a lie, but I think trace's voice is MUCH better than mine.
5. Who's Older?
Him, but I am wiser.
6. Who's smarter?
Well, that is a toss up. He is smart...yep, a smart-a$%! Just kiddin, he is very smart. But I have had my fair share of A's!
Different Ways
1. Who's temper is worse?
Ha ha. Our poor kids. We both have pretty bad tempers. I've just learned how to control mine. Trace just gets terrets when he gets mad or frustrated. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does...STAND CLEAR.
2. Who does the laundry?
Me. Trace helps out when he has time.
3. Who does the dishes?
The dishwasher and me.
4. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
I do most of the time. Trace moves around so much in his sleep.
5. Who mows the lawn?
The Provo Parks and Rec guy every Monday morning at 7.
6. Who pays the bills?
We share this task. I'm incharge of some and he takes care of a few too.
7. Who cooks dinner?
Trace loves to cook, but he doesn't have much time to. He helps me when he can. So, for now, I do most of the cooking.
8. Who drives when you are together?
Trace thinks I'm a scary driver...which is completely false. Anyway, he drives most of the time.
10. Who's the most stubborn?
It's a tie...Trace thinks I am. Once I set my mind on something, I hardly ever give up. But, Trace is pretty darn stubborn too.
11. Who is the first one to admit when they're wrong?
Me, cause Trace is NEVER wrong! ha ha.
12. Who's parents do you see more?
I would have to say his, because they get to come up to Utah more often. We will get to see them more now that it is BYU football season.
13. Who kissed who first?
Hmm, Trace kissed me...but I arranged the opportunity!
14. Who asked who out?
He asked me out...like 5 times. Then I finally said yes.
15. What did you do?
We went Bowling. I whoop him! Then we went to Sonic. And then we went bunny bashing out at the farm.
16. Who has more friends?
We have the same friends now, but in High School he was supposidely kind of mean. So, I probably had more friends back in the day. (Who knows though?)
17. Who has more siblings?
Oh, Trace for sure. 7 brothers and 4 sisters. Way to go Lon and Toni! ha ha. I love his big and crazy family. They are all amazing.
18. Who wears the pants in the relationship?
I am not sure. I want to say Trace, but he spoils me so much. I love my man. He's the best. Maybe we take turns wearing the pants...if that even possible?

TAG TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVEN'T DONE THIS ONE YET...those who are capable.

Dimples

Ok, ok...I know this picture is old. He was probably 2 weeks old, but I thought his dimples were so cute. I just had to show them off. His dimples don't show very much anymore because his cheeks got too chubby...as you can see...

Brody + Savannah = Best Buds

Trying to get two little ones to hold still enough take a good picture is nearly impossible...but they are still both so cute. (Brody was so little.)

Just chillin...(a little fatter now!)

Bath time is oh so fun!

You see, Savannah is already concerned for her best buddy.

My new wheels

Two days before the birth our little Brody, Trace got in a pretty bad car wreck. He was driving though an intersection...you know, normal day procedures. The only SLIGHT problem was that the light was red. (Note to Trace: RED MEANS STOP!) Anyway, he got T-boned and those are the remains of his truck. Thank goodness he was ok.

Ok, so don't be jealous...this is my new ride! No power steering, no power breaks, and no AC. (I'll leave it to your imaginations as to how I look behind the wheel!) Trace drives my carolla because it gets better gas mileage and he has to drive further than me. So...if anyone wants to go cruzin in my new 196-something Ford Farlane, just give me a call!

Swimming fun

We took Brody swimming for the first time. I am pretty sure he loves the water, although, he showed little emotion. Hopefully he will be able to swim better than his mom and dad! (We only doggie paddle!) Savannah is a natural swimmer...her and Brody love swimming together.

Can't wait...

I've been tagged, so here it goes.

1. I can't wait till Trace gets done with school and doesn't have to work two jobs. Then I will get to stay at home with Brody ALL day AND actually get to spend time with Trace too!!
2. I can't wait until I finally get to take a trip to Hawaii or Figi or the Bahamas...or anywhere where I can soak up the sun and get a nice tan. (When and IF we ever get rich!)
3. I can NOT wait for the day that Trace, Me, and Brody get to move back to Arizona...just as long as Jaime, Banning, and Savannah come with us.
4. I can't wait for the PHOENIEX SUNS to start playing again.
5. I can't wait until Trace and I get a nice house with a cute fence and a tree swing in the front yard...with lots and lots of grass so all our friends can come over and play football or croquet or tag or whatever they want.
6. I can't wait for Brody to start talking...I'm very curious as to what he is thinking.
7. I can't wait until I'm 65 years old and Trace and I get to sit on a front porch swing and reminiss about all the good times we've had.
8. I can't wait to get to paint and decorate and buy cute stuff for my very own house.
9. I can't wait until I am done with school and finally have my teaching degree.
10....finally! I can't wait until this summer heat wave is over...I will definately enjoy the cooler weather.

Brody's Blessing

We went to our wonderful home town state of Arizona to bless Brody. It was quite the trip. We left Friday night when Trace got off work. We drove all night with no major complications...besides almost hitting some sheeps and some wild horses on the Rez! When we got to Show Low, Nanna and Grandpa watched Brody while Trace and I got some rest. We hung out all day and then had a going away party for Rustin that night. (He left to go to dental school in New York....I have mixed feelings about it!) Anyway, after the party we drove over to Heber. We blessed Brody the next morning at The Porter house. We dressed Brody in the same outfit that Trace (and I'm sure the rest of his brothers) was blessed in. He looked so cute and SOOO chubby! The blessing was beautiful. Trace did such a good job. Then after that I was supposed to say a few words, but ofcourse I got all choked up and tongue-tied...I really don't know what I said. Anyway, the cool part about Brody's blessing was that Beau and Shaunalee blessed Kaleb the same day. It was also so wonderful to have all of Trace's brothers there (besides Devin) and all my family too. That little boy has some great uncles to look up to as heros and role models!!

A couple of Memories...

I found some pictures of Trace and I when we first starting dating. Even though it was only about 2 years ago, I thought we looked so young. I loved looking at them, they brought back so many good memories. I absolutely LOVE pictures and that they are able to capture many wonderful moments. These pictures are from our hiking trip to Havasui Pai...the Grand Canyon. Trace is just so freaking handsome. I love him so much. He is truely my best friend.

7 Random things about me...

1. I sleep on my stomach.
2. I love taking long "wilderness" drives with no destination in mind.
3. I love, love, love camping, fishing, and making smores...which may be the best part about camping!
4. I enjoy taking naps...when and if I have time.
5. I can NOT swim, but I am a doggy-paddling pro.
6. I LOVE country music, and yes, even the old twangy kind.
7. I really enjoy scaring people, especially Trace, but I hate getting scared.

There, I'm done...that wasn't too bad!

Derik

This is Derik and Brody at the family reunion! Derik, who absolutely LOVES Spongebob Squarepants, was taking care of Brody while he was snoozing. The picture is too cute. Oh, and yes, Derik and Trace are having a contest to see whose hair will make the better afro. I think it is a tie right now!

Fudgy or cake-like?

After eating a delicious meal, prepared by my hubby, I decided that I should make a Wednesday night treat of some sort. I chose brownies. So, as I was reading over the cooking instructions, I found myself asking, "Do I like fudgy brownies or cake-like ones?" Is there really that big of a difference? How many times have I made brownies??...TONS, no probably millions of times. How come I didn't remember if I liked fudgy or cake-like? Beats me. Anyway, I ended up making the cake-like ones...and to be honest...they just tasted like normal brownies.

music...

Isn't crazy how a song can bring back a memory in an instant? Or how it can change your mood? It has the power to make you feel happy, sad, pumped up, or layed back. Maybe this isn't the case for all people, but I for one LOVE music...all kinds of music. Sad to say, however, I have NO musical talent what-so-ever...but I am sure greatful to all the musicians who create the sounds that we all love to hear.

The donkey outfit

It all started when I was about 7 months pregnant. I told Trace that he could pick the outfit that Brody would come home from the hospital in. Little did I know, but I was in for a surprise. Yes, he picked out a donkey outfit. You might ask, "Where in the WORLD did Trace find that?" Three small words...BUILD-A-BEAR. Trace is so excited to be a dad. He loves his little boy.

Pictures anyone?...
