the helpers...

I had foot surgery last Thursday.
I had to get my ugly "old lady foot" fixed.
I was knocked out. Last thing I remember was looking over at my doctor and drugfully saying, "If I punch you in the face during surgery, I'm sorry."
I have to wear this blasted boot for 6 dreadfully HOT weeks.
Anyway- point of the post is, my mom and dad came up to help me out and play with the Brodster. (Who, by the way, turned 2 YEARS OLD yesterday! He's no longer my baby boy.)
Things my mom did to HELP out:

She did the dishes....except she forgot to take the plastic wrapper off the dish soap. She thought that it was the dissolvable plastic. (Do they make that?) At least the dishes got a hot rinse.

She made DELICIOUS sticky popcorn...the 2nd time around. The FIRST time she decided to cook the popcorn for SIX minutes, when the suggested time is TWO minutes. You can imagine how good my house, clothes, walls, furniture, and hair smelt....I LOVE burnt popcorn smell! They should make a scented candle. Since then I have tried amoneia, bleach, vinegar, and KaBoom to get the stinch out. No luck. However, the 2nd round of popcorn was DELICIOUS and I am very glad she made me a snack!

She refilled my DIAPER stash. Except she accidentally tore threw a wet-wipes refill pack thinking it was a diaper pack. We then took that pack of wipes and stuffed and refilled every possible wipe container I had available. Therefore, she really refilled the DIAPERS AND the WIPES. Such an over-achiever! :)

We went shopping and she got some new flip flops. We left the store and she realized that she got a size 10. We then made another trip to the store so she could exchange them. When she came back out we headed off to another store. I got out of the car and waited for her. I watched her rip off the tags. However, when I looked at the sticker on the shoe it said size 10. I thought she grabbed the wrong size again. She said...shhhhhh....they didn't have the right size and these ones are good enough.

Those are just a few funny things about my mom. Spending time with her is so much fun and we are always laughing about something. She really did help out so much and waited on me hand and foot. Her and Grampa kept Brody entertained. They played and played. They helped me throw him a BIRTHDAY party. They vacuumed, did my laundry, swept, mopped, went grocery shopping, and cooked. (Maybe I should have a surgery more often....) Also, on a side note: my dad was the one that vacuumed.
It was great to have them here and I'm so thankful to have parents that care so much about me and are willing to help out whenever they are needed. They are fun to be around. I hope I can always be like that.
Thank you mom & dad for coming up and helping me out! I greatly appreciate all you did....and the burnt popcorn smell will eventually fade away!

I'm glad your surgery went well. I think I'm going to need the same thing done when i don't live in NYC anymore. Seriously, my foot kills me to walk on some days.
I'm glad your surgery went well. Did you punch your doctor?
