HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

Today is a VERY special ladies Birthday!....It's my MOMMAS!! So I just thought I would give her a shout out. Here is the birthday girl with her favorite Grandson...

I just wanted to list 5 things I've learned from my mom. (No particular order.)

1. It is important to laugh. My mom loves to tell jokes and loves to make other people laugh. I personally think they are usually laughing at her laugh and not at the joke but I think that is what makes her so much fun to be around. Plus her smile is contagious and she is so beautiful.

2. I learned that it isn't proper to stick your tongue out at people. I believe I was about 6 or 7 when I learned this lesson. Let me explain. We were living in the HUGE town of Vernon, AZ. My moms visting teachers dropped by for their monthly visit. For some reason she wanted me to stay in my room and keep Danica entertained...color, read to her, or you know...throw her off the bed and break her arm (other day...another story.) Anyway, I came out of the room, proceeded to walk down the hall...and that's when she noticed me out of the corner of her eye. She gave me a "stern" look as to say, "You better get that cute butt of yours back in that bedroom." Me, being miss stubborn britches, MAY have tested her seriousness and continued on down the hall...this is when she pointed her finger back towards the bedroom...while STILL talking to her visiting teachers. At this point I stuck out my tongue. She DID NOT approve. I saw the look in her eye and I tried to run fast but my dumb stumpy legs wouldn't move fast enough. She caught me, took me back into the bedroom and told me to STAY. I didn't move a muscle until she came back in and explain how rude it is to stick out your tongue. Therefore, I never did it again...unless of course the person totally deserved it. Anyway, she taught me to mind my manners (for the most part) and treat others with kindness.

3. She taught me to love the gospel. When I would come home from late night ball games or just hanging out with my friends I would always see her kneeling by her bed. Most likely praying for me. She always went to church, fulfilled her callings, played sunday music on the piano before church (I always loved that), and always bore a tear-jerking testimony. I know my testimony of the gospel is stronger because of her.

4. She is a wonderful wife. She is CONSTANTLY doing something to help my dad. Not that my dad is helpless (he is a great guy)...it's just that she is SUPER WOMAN. She cooks, cleans, does laundry, organizes dates and events, pays the bills, does the taxes, works a full time job....and even after all this, if anyone asked for her help to do something, she would do it in an instant, without hesitation. My dad is one lucky guy and I just hope I can be at least 1/2 of the wife she is.

and 5. (even though I could go on and on about her) She is the best mom in the whole world. She'll make you soup when your sick, read you a story to help you fall asleep, bake you your favorite meal upon request, take you shopping when you have no money, and spoil you...even though you never deserved it. She also came to most all of my ball games...there were only a few that she couldn't make it too. I always loved having her support.

I love you mom! Thank you for everything. You are the absolute best. I hope you had a wonderful birthday!

I just love your mom. She is one amazing lady. Everytime I am around her, she blows me away by doing everything great. She is just one of those people for me though. I wish I could be half the mom that she is. She is very inspiring to me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMRA!!! (A few days late!) I love you!
