Graduation 2010

I GRADUATED! Yahoo for me.

I dare you to find me... Funny story: As I was preparing to give the Dean a handshake, for some reason my vision was distorted and I as I reached my hand out I missed his hand and hit him in the stomach. I laughed, cause I didn't know what else to do. Luckily he laughed too. Then we turned and smiled for the camera. I'm not going to lie...it was a bit awkward.

Proof that a mom, wife, and working lady can actually graduate. (not to brag...but with honors and stuff.) My support crew: I honestly couldn't have done it without them. They both made me laugh and kept me sain. They both knew that when I was doing homework it was best to be quiet and stand clear. They both knew that I loved hanging out with them more than school...even though school took up a lot of time. And they KNOW that I love them very mucho!! My mom, Danica, Poppa Lon, Toni, and Olivia all drove up from Arizona to come and show their support. I love them all very much. Another funny story: The Porter's made it to the very end of the ceremony...but then had to leave to go get our table reservation at Tucano's. Then later that day I was telling Toni thanks for coming up and how much I appreciated it. Then she said, "Well I wouldn't have missed it for the world." Then Olivia says, "Mom, we DID miss it!" We all got a kick out of that.
It was quite the journey and I am definately glad that I did it. After all, a lot of people go to college for 7 years!! (True, most are DOCTORS and make at least 6 times what a PE teacher will make...but I'm done...and that's what matters.)

You stuck out like a big sucker in a bag of jelly beans. I'm so proud of you and I would have been at your graduation, but I had to take my school kids to Sea Camp that week. I regret missing it, but couldn't get out of the other responsibility. Now you are done and that is what matters and no one can ever take that away from you and you will always know that you accomplished a huge task against extreme odds and you conquered it - mom, pregnant, wife, wreck, work, 22 hours one semester. You never quit, you never complained, you just did what you had to do and you DID IT!

Well, it's only obvious. You are the gorgeous girl right smack in the middle. Of course I have an advantage finding you: I WAS THERE. Sort of. Almost. Kind of. TeeHee. That was funny stuff. I am so proud of you. I wish I had persevered. Taralee=What-a-Woman. The amazing thing is that you did all of the things you did simultaneously SO VERY WELL while maintaining The #1 Most Popular Blog Ever. Yeah, you're really cool. Love, MamaT

whoa! with a mother-in-law and a hubby like yours there is no way you couldn't have succeeded. You had a good support team behind you. I am so grateful you have them in your life. Of course, your good upbringing didn't hurt you any either. Thanks for making us all so proud. Love, Dad
