Yesterday Trace had a little run-in with a creature from the dark abiss.
It was a nice sunny day out. Trace and Don were working on some cabinets for the Harley Davidson shop. All of the sudden the Flower Lady from next door (She has a name...it's Lisa, but Trace always calls her the Flower lady) anyway...she comes running over to their shop. She's sure that her building is under attack by a creature from underworld. So Trace and Don are off to the rescue. (Your typical nights in shining armor...??? ha ha) So they look around and find a fuzzy baby raccoon hidden behind a barrell of flowers or something. Trace, being the funny guy that he is, bends down to do a Will Ferrell impersonation off of ELF, and gets right in the raccoon's face and says, "Hey there little buddy, does someone need a hug...." AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN the little demon jumps out and HISS, HISS, GRRRR, HISSSS, GRRRR and shows his sharp little devil teeth. Trace jumps back and, as he put it, "assumed the fetal postion and screamed like a little girl."
Ha ha ha ha!!! That little fella didn't live to see the light of another day. (Sad, but true.)On a different note. It is FATHER'S DAY today! I would just like to take a moment and thank my pops for being such a great dad and example to all of us kids. Thanks for teaching us how to be hard workers, stand up for what we believe in, love the gospel, have fun on family vacations-even though there were sometimes a LOT of set backs and mishaps and "Oh hell" moments. Thanks for teaching me how to drive on the back roads of Vernon! Thanks for helping me remember which pedal was the BRAKE pedal...after I drove through a fence, ran over some stumps, plowed through the fields, and pert near got your truck door torn off. (The door was your fault though, you're the one that ran into it...after I slammed on the brake.) I love you dad. Thanks for your love and support through the years. Thanks for being a great Grandpa too!!

What a nice father's day post. I'm sure all the dads you know loved it. I hope Trace is over the trauma of facing that raccoon by now. THat was hilarious.
I am cracking up about the raccoon incident. That is hilarious!
Thanks for the post. You are a very sweet and thoughtful daughter ~ always have been. The raccoon story was hilarious. You have a great way with words, now we need to work on your spelling. Ha!.. Keep the creative stories coming, they are fun to read. I love you, Dad
Hey, don't ever change your style in the spelling department. It's part of the fun. And, yeah, the racoon story with photo was the best. No the PaPa Doy's Window was the best. Keep them coming! We love you! Mama T
