So at my job I answer phone call after phone call. I always end by saying something like, "Thanks for calling, have a good day"...you know...something friendly like that. BUT before I say "BYE", I always say "mmmm Bye." I also noticed that other people on the other line do it as well. Is this a Provo cultural thing? Or do other people do it? I think the "mmm" is VERY unintentional and very habitable (and yes, that is a word.)

I answer the phone all the time at my job too and I say something like, "Ok ENOUGH already!" and then I hang up. Is that just a Kandra thing?
Ok...so thanks for the nice post on our blog...you are too nice to me. Anyway, about the "mmmm bye" thing...totally a Utah thing. We have good friends that live in Granstville and they ALWAYS end the phone conversation like that except they add another "bye" to the end of it...like..."mmmmm bye, bye:)" I think that is funny. As long as you don't start acting like a Utard it is ok to talk like one:)!!!!
i've heard a few people do that down here and they were losers so you must just either be a loser or a utard. good luck. go conquer the world.

That's a very fun game of mine. I noticed that most of the time, people will say "bye" the same way I do. I've got the burliest of men to tell me "buh bye," or "mmmm bye."
I almost forgot that trick....thanks!
That is so funny, I never noticed that or picked up on that but it is so true. I say it all the time, I think I am saying um hum thanks, good bye. Or I just get really nervous and start blabbering and making funny sounds.
Kristen! this totally reminded me of the "buh bye" thing that we've always done. ahahah. It had me laughing for a good little bit. Tara, I think it's a reflex. Like, if you say it first, the person that says it after you will repeat what you say. it's kind of funny. Like Kristen said, it's so funny to get people to say weird things that they would never say normally. funny.
I will have to pay more attention when I am on the phone next time. Right now I don't think it is something I do but I'm sure I do something similar. By the way I like the pictures of Brody in the grass!! Cute!!
